ACHIEVE GREATER: Addressing Cardiometabolic Health Inequities by Early PreVEntion in the GREAT LakEs Region

ACHIEVE-P4: PATHFINDER is a study looking at the impact on symptoms and outcomes of heart failure patients utilizing portable air cleaners in their home. Participants will receive two portable air cleaners and an indoor air quality sensor. The air cleaners will be randomized to either have filters in them or not. Follow-up in-person visits are scheduled at 30- and 90-days after enrollment.

Sex: Male or Female
Age: 18 years and over
Healthy Volunteers:
This study is NOT accepting healthy volunteers
Inclusion Criteria:
1) Currently in the emergency room or hospitalized with plan to be discharged to home 2) Diagnosis of heart failure 3) Elevated cardiac blood levels 4) Expected ability to fully participate in study (can tolerate study processes, no long travel)
Exclusion Criteria:
Age less than 18 years old; Inability to provide written informed consent; Regular HEPA filter air cleaner use in home already; Current smokers; Has major cardiac procedures within 30 days prior/ 90 days from enrollment
