JOURNEY: J-Valve to treat aortic regurgitation via transcatheter therapy
Status: Recruiting
The main goal of this study is to see whether a new, less invasive heart?valve device, called the J?Valve Transfemoral System, is safe and works well for people who have severe leaking of the heart?s aortic valve and are considered too high?risk for open?heart valve?replacement surgery.
Sex: Male or Female
Age: 18 years and over
Healthy Volunteers:
Inclusion Criteria:
• Symptoms that affect daily activities and feeling short of breath or tired with normal activity or even at rest
• Severe aortic valve regurgitation, which means the aortic valve is leaking severe.
• A team of heart specialists has decided the person is too high?risk for open?heart valve surgery.
Exclusion Criteria:
People may not be eligible if they already have an artificial aortic valve, an active infection, cannot safely take blood thinners, have serious kidney, lung, or liver disease, or have major blood problems like low blood counts or bleeding disorders, recent heart attack, or not expected to live at least two more years due to serious illness.Interventions:
